St Fintan's CBS 2-8; Castletroy College 1-4
Underdogs St Fintan's CBS
enjoyed an excellent 7 point victory in a keenly fought Limerick
Colleges County
Final
played at Ballybricken today. Having enjoyed
quarter final and semi final victories over John the Baptist Community
College, Hospital and Hazelwood College,

The game was played in difficult wet and
windy conditions saw Doon start brightly with a Kevin Stapleton goal
followed by good points by Adam and Dean Coleman. Tom Fox followed up
with an excellent goal after great work by Pat Ryan.
At half time Doon led 2-3 to 1-3. A huge performance
particularly by the Doon defence saw Castletroy score only one point in
the second half. Doon ran out winners on a scoreline of 2-8 to 1-4.
This was a super win for Doon CBS who were led brilliantly by
their centre back and captain Sean Ryan.
Other to play very well include Jack Hayes, Stephen Ryan, Richie

Sr. Mary Killeen Visits CBS
On Tuesday 12th November, Sr Mary Killeen visited our school. This remarkable woman spoke to the students about her work in Nairobi, Kenya, where she has overcome great obstacles to provide schooling for the poorest children living in the slums.
This work was witnessed first-hand last October by the Immersion group when the
10 students and 4 teachers from St Fintan’s visited two of her schools and saw
the amazing facilities that have been provided for the children and adults of
Nairobi by Sr Mary and her colleagues.
Thousands of children are being educated in happy, structured environments and
the skills and knowledge being imparted to them will surely benefit them for
life. Her work is of immeasurable
importance and we are delighted that such an important and inspirational woman
visited us.
She told us that the students who visited her schools from St Fintan’s were remarked to have been the best that ever visited from any country and all were very impressed with them. Sr Mary hails from Dublin, her mother was from Doon and attended school in St Josephs.
